No.32 Clapham Old Town

Saturday just past I went for brunch with Erin (former housemate) just for a little bit of catch up and gossip about Barcelona(Post to follow soon)! I don’t know if any of you have been to Clapham Old Town, but it is just the loveliest! You know the types of streets where the pavements and roads are all one level and quaint little pubs and restaurants. Ahh swoon!

Anyway, we booked a table at No.32. and headed on down for 11.30am. I loved the interior as soon as I walked in. Think monochrome tiled floors, kitchen and bar space open and little plants potted about the place. They also have a roof terrace, with those little twinkly lights just to set the mood. We sat downstairs, but I know if someone took me there for dinner I would be thoroughly impressed! I went for the eggs benedict with a bloody mary (obv) and Erin, eggs royale with bellini.

About £8.50 each, you get what you pay for. Poached eggs that ooze as soon as the knife pierces it, and just a enough hollandaise sauce so it doesn’t overpower the whole dish. Delightful.IMG_2058We both decided not having a dessert would be criminal so got the maple banana toffee crumble. Yes, it was as good as it sounds! With a scoop of banana ice-cream on top, I was in heaven.

The whole bill came to just under £30 each. A little dear for a brunch on Saturday afternoon but completely worth it. I want to go back already.

I spent the rest of the day with a couple of the team. Alice had come up to London, so we all went to Portobello Market and then to the Saatchi gallery to view Mademoiselle Privé. Such a cultural day around London. I always take for granted whats on my doorstep.

How was your weekend?
