Kitchen Table

After reading rave reviews of this almost top secret restaurant, I jumped at any occasion to book a seat here. Kitchen Table is unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. 19 seats wrapped around a open kitchen with chefs flame throwing anything in sight….okay, maybe a slight exaggeration. But you’re right there in the action of it all.

The menus are changed weekly, depending on what they can get their hands on, so I couldn’t tell you to definitely try a certain dish. But trust me when I say it’s one of the most innovative and creative menus I’ve ever had.

All in all, we had 17 courses. Yes, you read that correctly. 17. The original menu only consisted of 14 but you have a choice on the day to add another 3 courses for a smooth £45pp. We were already there, so I thought ‘what the hell!’ add them on! And I can quite honestly say that was the best decision I had made all day. The menu isn’t so much of a menu as it is a list. A list of the main ingredient they use in each course, so it’s a surprise until it’s in front of you.

I’m not sure me trying to remember what was in each one will help, so I’m just going to give all the information I was given when I walked in.

  • Scallop
  • Potato
  • Chicken
  • Turbot
  • Mullet
  • Monkfish (extra course)
  • Plaice
  • Lobster (extra course)
  • Duck
  • Lamb
  • Rhubarb
  • Beetroot
  • Strawberry (Forgot to take a picture)
  • Elderflower
  • Gooseberry (extra course)
  • Caramel
  • Raspberry

I don’t want to give too much away, so I’m going to leave it at that. It’s a tad pricey, but completely worth the money in my opinion. And I urge you to pay extra for the added courses, 100% worth it if you’re already going all out!
